Michelle Wuetcher

Owner, Trainer, Instructor

Michelle Wuetcher is the head manager and trainer at Silver Ridge Stables. She is a Louisville, KY native with over 20 years of equine experience under her belt.

Michelle has spent over a decade competing heavily in three-day eventing. She has worked extensively with head trainer, Martha Lambert and gained much of her education in eventing, horsemanship, and training through her time spent in Martha’s program. In addition, Michelle has partaken in clinics with Olympic level riders including Alex Gerding, Kyle Carter, and Jimmy Wooford. Under the guidance of these trainers, Michelle has successfully brought up several horses to the novice, training, and preliminary levels. Prior to this, Michelle gained experience at a local equine facility where she took weekly lessons, and worked as a horse camp counselor and riding instructor.

Michelle graduated from the University of Louisville in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management. During her time in college, she competed on the school’s intercollegiate hunt seat team, traveling to various hunt seat competitions around the tri-state area. She went on to become vice president of the team her Junior and Senior year.

After college, Michelle was hired on as an assistant manager at Hermitage Farm’s sport horse division, located in Lagrange, KY. Her job entailed caring for and training FEI level horses in the sports of combined driving and dressage. She also was a traveling groom for the farm, following the horses to various advanced level competitions and clinics all over the United States and overseas. Michelle accredits her knowledge in exceptional equine care and farm management to the time spent working with horses and staff at Hermitage Farm.

In 2016, Michelle decided to pursue her most exciting business venture yet – opening up her own boarding, and training facility – Silver Ridge Stables! She enjoys sharing her insights and core values of horsemanship, english riding, and eventing with equine enthusiasts both young and old, and at every skill level!

To her, opening up Silver Ridge was all about getting back to the root of why she started riding to begin with… for the love of the horse.
