How do I secure my child's spot for camp?
Your child's spot is held by placing a $50 non-refundable deposit. Spots are filled on a first come, first served basis, as deposits are recieved.
I'm not sure what skill level my child is at. How do I find this out?
Call us! Our camps are geared towards the beginner with no experience, to the intermediate rider who is walking, trotting and has some cantering experience or is ready to start. We'd love to hear from you and chat further about the appropriate level for your child.
What are your current COVID policies?
Silver Ridge is following current national guidelines for COVID and is requiring face masks for both children and camp counselors when not able to social distance. This will primarily be at the beginning of the day when we are tacking horses up or at the end of the day when cooling them down. Children are not required to wear their masks while riding.
What should my child bring?
- Bagged lunch Monday - Thursday
- Sunscreen
- Face Mask

Your children should bring a packed lunch for Monday - Thursday. Friday is our end-of-week pizza party so no lunch needed! Additionally, it is recommended your child bring their own mask and sunscreen but we will have extra on-hand.
What should my child wear?
It's recommended your child wears jeans or riding pants. Yoga pants or leggings will work, but note that they could be slippery. For safety reasons, we do require closed-toe shoes with a low heel. Silver Ridge provides helmets, but if your child already has a riding helmet they are more than welcome to bring it!
Can my child wear his/her bike helmet?
Only FEI compliant riding helmets are allowed when riding horses at Silver Ridge. Silver Ridge has extra helmets specifically for our campers, so don't worry if you don't have one!
What do you do in inclement weather?
We are here rain or shine! Silver Ridge has a covered barn specially suited for rainy day activities. Michelle and Sara have horse-related games and activities specifically set aside for the days we have to stay under cover. While Silver Ridge does reserve the right to cancel camp for the day in the event of severe weather, we do have a farm house with a basement and safe room if an unexpected storm pops up!
Does Silver Ridge provide drinks?
Yes! We will provide jugs with water and juice for your kids to drink at-will. They are also more than welcome to bring their own water bottle! We will have coolers and a refrigerator to keep food/drinks cold.
My child has their own horse. Can my child bring him/her?
Yes! Children AND horses are welcome! Silver Ridge has small paddocks your horse can camp out in during the week. An additional cost of $15/night will be added to the camp fee.
